UpRite Lions Leave their Legacy at a Local Middle School
Monday, January 11, 2010 is going to be a date to remember...especially for the Lions of Aycock Middle School, located in Greensboro, North Carolina. For the first time, the students have a fight song to usher in their boys and girls basket ball teams. UpRite Lions made a special appearance at the school to introduce a new tradition that is sure to be around for generations to come...
The UpRite Lions fuse with a young pride at the home of the Mighty Lions!
As small children they learn of the cowardly lion who sought courage from a wizard. They learn of the king of lions who fled his family when he was blamed for hierarchy that came too soon.
So, how did the UpRite Lions meet such a multitude of young lions?
It was a young girl named Kayla while on her prowl, who overheard the roar of the UpRite Lions who expressed that same energy she held inside, ready to explode. She felt this was just what her family of Mighty Lions needed to maintain their family. Chants through the pride land of E. B. Aycock Middle School reflect what grabbed young Kaylas attention:
Lions will never die
We are from a different pride
Walking upright Chest out Heads held high
Ay-yo! Ay-yo!
The dance team and drill team joined the UpRite Lions in their performance and surrounded these Kings with the same energy they released.
Teaching the youth to be courageous in who they are, to stand tall in what they believe, and to come together in unity with a purpose; this is what the UpRite Lions gave the students at AMS. The students learn that in order to sustain the circle of life, they must realize that even the UpRite Lions are not just a group, but a lifestyle.
Go LIONS!
